My work primarily consists of landscapes and figures in transparent watercolor. The paintings are inspired by my rural central Wisconsin landscape and community, as well as by distant travels. I look to the examples of Turner, Sargeant, Homer, and the Wyeths for inspiration. I am especially interested in producing works that evoke the shared grace of human presence and natural beauty. I look for the mystery and wonder in the commonplace.
